Is this the most expensive used set ever?

Postby mutley777 » Mon Feb 13, 2012 8:27 pm

The title said it all. Just look how much this USED UCS Falcon went for! It is not even a first edition!

It might be time to get my lego properly insured once and for all. :D

Just crazy!!! But if you have a spare one now is the time to sell :D

Then again perhaps it's worth hanging onto for a few years.

It is just not decent. People are spending time doing business there and some dudes are trolling.

Wow, that's nuts. I thought bricklink prices were absurd. I love my Falcon, but I'm always so tempted when I see something like this.

I hate it when these things happen, like with the Batman sets.
Why can't people keep LEGO affordable for everyone?

Well it is that old issue of supply and demand. Lego no longer sell the set so now it all down to the re-sale and second hand market. The problem there is that most people who originaly bought this set don't want to sell it and alot of the resale sets have now been snapped up. This means when one does do on sale it is rare and now will attract a lot of interest. I would say someone willing to pay £3000 for a used £350 lego set is obviously a big fan! This is the way of the world so you just have to get used to it I am affraid, or you could even try to profit from it. :)

Yes, you're right, but still.. There are kids out there who want some Batman figures, and collectors who missed out the Millennium Falcon. It's unfair for them, but that's how the world works, like you said.
I could profit from it myself, but the problem is: I don't want to sell any of my Lego either ;)

hmmmm... 3000 pounds ... obviously, somebody wants this really baaaadly... or got a lot of money at Christmas and doesn't know how to spend it all...

honestly, i'm thinking/hoping of getting most of the parts from BL for a lot less than this. if prices are going up like this then maybe Lego should reconsider and start production again... in a year or two...
