New Marvel & DC licensed sets in 2012

From Movies & TV to Lego form (all licenses from Toy Story-Prince of Persia-Indy-SpongeBob-Batman...)

I've just read on IGN that "LEGO's reps have confirmed that contrary to what the Variety article says, they "will not be producing The Dark Night Rises sets."

That was to be expected though 8-)

Yep no surprise at all, it is a big shame as i would have liked a smaller Tumbler or the flying vehicle known as the bat.

Not surprising, cOnsidering the "darkness" of the film (well, BB and TDK). LEGO can surely ride along on the coattails of the film and other companies' marketing.
I am perfectly okay with it though. I much Prefer the comic style sets. I like the classic designs of the Batmobile and Batwing over Nolan's versions.

They could of course give us the Tumbler and The Bat vehicles in a comic styled set, they did it before with the over sized tumbler a few years back.

Of course Lego have the rights to next years Man of Steel movie so perhaps we wont see much of Batman next year, i'm still hoping for a few Justice League characters in another set first.

More news on that fantastic line cheers to Brickset: "Shazam minifig will be available at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con. From this schedule (3:00-4:00). Join ever-informed, fancentric WAC Podcast hosts George Feltenstein, Matthew Patterson, and DW Ferranti as they give fans a look at the upcoming DVD release of the popular 1970s series Shazam! The series’ own Billy Batson, Michael Gray, will be on hand, and an exclusive, limited-edition Shazam! LEGO figure will be awarded to a lucky number of fans in attendance."

OK Vader, here is one more hard to get/super expensive fig for you to get :D

Damn i hate these exclusives too!!! I was lucky enough to get the Green Lantern fig for a fraction of the current silly prices we see today, but the Batman one escaped me.

I will no doub attempt to get one of these Shazam figs but i doubt i will be that lucky again, still at least its not a Flash, Martian Manhunter or Aquaman fig.

This set is ok, but nothing that makes me want to go out and buy it. Still i do like the new figs even if Doc Ock is a little different.

Well for a lego fan i think its getting annoying with all those exslusives i have no chance of getting.
Hard to be a collector hehe

But the figs are nice, and nice people get a chance to a Spidey again :)

Just when we thought that it was bad enough that we have little chance of getting the SDCC Shazam it appears that their could very well be a Bizarro Minifig too at the SDCC :x

I would love both figs but i sure as hell wont pay sky high prices for either, Lego still have not given us sets with last years SDCC figs Green Lantern and Batman. So i doubt we will get a Shazam or Bizarro in a set anytime soon.

Another reason to be pissed at Lego and the SDCC, Lego will also give away Venom and Phoenix figs :x

Last year i managed to get the SDCC Green Lantern fig, ended up paying a hell of a lot less than its going for these days. However i doubt many of us will have a chance with these new ones, i can see the Venom and Bizarro ones going for crazy prices and to make things worse lego have produced 500 less of each fig this time.

Looking again at these figs (tks to FBTB) make me wonder if they will be part of the 2013 line-up. Lets hope because that Bizarro ha to be one of the best figs of the Superheroes line.

SO FBTB just said that these figs will NEVER be part of future sets :x Well one word comes to my mind: f**k you Lego !!
