Piratesets of AFOL12v (Black Hawk)

Besides 12v trains, I also like the piratetheme. I've all first piratesets, released in 1989. Those are placed on a separate table in my layout. These sets won't match in my trainlayout.

I want some more piratesets, but it depends what I can get for a nice price. I've also set 1788, which I found in a box of lego I bought some time ago. I discovered it was a rare set, lucky me :D . It has also some indians, which I like also.

What was the reason I liked the pirate theme so much. Well it can be blamed to this person:

This person is fiction and mostly is form blackbeard. I've all comic's form Charlier en Hubinon, who made this comicseries. His ship is named Black Hawk. A fast heavily armed brick. I always wanted to build a better ship, like the Black Seas Barracuda 6285. More canons and more detail.
Only my version will carry the english flag and redbeard will be still captain. What happened in my 'dreams'? Well when the pirates were hunted down, he has chosen side. English were well known of there strong ships and in this way he can still repair his black hawk and get free supplies. In exchange of this, he had to help the english navy to defend the english colonies and hunt down fellow pirates.

I keep you people informed about the building progress of my version of the black hawk. Hopefully the fiction person Redbeard can be proud about my legoversion :)

Thanks for sharing your great pirate collection Panda :geek:

So you got into pirates thanks to a French person :D I never heard of him nor his character but I really like the name "The Carribbean's demon" :geek:
Like a certain KimT would say "blame the French" :D

Oh please show us your Black Hawk progress ;) I always find it really interesting to see MOCs based on something "real". And tks for sharing your story that make the whole MOC really more interesting IMO

Nice collection. I wish I was around when the early pirate sets were made.
