Atlantis 2010

Postby xzanfr » Tue Aug 11, 2009 11:03 pm

A possible new theme....
This has been posted in several places and seems to be from a good source (Italian toy trade site)

Image

The following is from a Russian Lego website, listing the names of the sets...

8056 - Begegnung mit der Monsterkrabbe (Encounters with the monster crab)
8057 - Unterwasserscooter (Underwater Scooter)
8058 - Riesenhai (Basking)
8059 - Sandfräser (Sand cutters)
8060 - Turbojet
8061 - Tintenfischtor
8075 - Neptuns U-Boo (Neptune Submarine)

What do you think.. a new underwater theme or a bit of photosohp fun? ;)

Looks a bit too much like Aqua Raiders. Still, AR was a good, if short lived, line

It's a bit too early to tell what's going on.. especially with such small pic but...

Undersea kingdom + gill-people = good;
Undersea power miners + some scared mermaids = bad. ;) :D

Actually, the list at the bottom is German. ;)

The missing names mean (As far as I know):

8056 - Begegnung mit der Monsterkrabbe (Encounters with the monster crab)
8057 - Unterwasserscooter (Underwater Scooter)
8058 - Riesenhai (Gigantic Shark)
8059 - Sandfräser (Sand cutters)
8060 - Turbojet
8061 - Tintenfischtor (Octopus (or Squid) Gate)
8075 - Neptuns U-Boo (Neptune's Submarine)

I'm looking forward to better pictures of the theme. I think it has potential.

Thx! Looks interesting, but not exciting enough to make me happy, other possible themes could have been chosen, some better, but I guess Lego likes making under water
Aqua raiders wasn't half bad, I really enjoyed that Giant squid and would love to see others like it :geek:
Maybe add some mermaids and new parts and then we are all good :D

The box art looks very official and sharp, exactly what I would have imagined Lego artists to design
If it is fake then the photos-hopper did a really awesome job, I however do not think its fake

I seriously doubt that it is a fake. There's even whatever that is on the side which shows what looks to be a mermaid or something, on fakes, there usually isn't anything but the lego logo, theme name, and picture. It looks like a normal prelim just like from other themes. At least it is slightly clearer and color-correct compared to this year's Power Miners, however smaller. I'm actually looking forward to some of these.

I guess it doesn't look so bad. I mean, if you look closely to the right of the giant vehicle, you can make out what seems to be a Atlantian! :D . That might be pretty awesome :) !!! Of course, the sets may not even exist. But if so, I hope TLC makes them darn good ones!!! :) :) :) . If it's another failed line such as Aqua Raiders, I'll be disappointed. :( .
Well, I hope it's good whatever it is.

Thanks for the clarification on the names, Erdbeereis1.

die Namen sind Deutsch, aber die Website ist russisch ;) :D - (thanks google translator!)

I don't think that AR failed, more that it simply ran it's course. Lego has a history of making underwater themes so this one is simply the next version of Aqua Raiders.
It'd be good to see what new / recoloured pieces are used and if it's the usual "good vs evil", or everyone getting along together (with perhaps the shark, squid or crab being the enemy).

Well I actually did something today what I do on rare occasions only - I watched TV :D

And there was a spot from Lego during the commercial brake! It said that there's a new Atlantis world in Legoland Germany to discover so I guess it's very probable that this list is no fake.

Wow I wish so much lego would just stick with the lines they're good at instead of bringing out the same recycled crap every few years xD really this is just power miners in red isn't it? If the line was anything like the disney film with the old trucks and amazing looking submarines I believe it would be a win win line. However unfortunatly disney already came up with that idea and seeing as no new films are produced that idea will never happen :)

Ah well, I don't buy anything anymore anyone so I don't really mind ^^

Wow I'm actually pretty impressed with another new action underwater theme so close to AR !!

The good side with every upcoming line is all the potential in new parts, elements and animals :D More underwater sea life please !!

I like that they are using mythology in here: the reference to Neptune is really an encouraging sign I have to say :P

From that small pic I really think this line has a lot of potential !! Trident + new creatures !! I like

Its pretty hard to make anything from the names of the sets but I really do look forward to these !! I've always enjoyed underwater sets so I'm actually pretty excited by these !!
