Those new Atlantis sets are cool. Hopefully they're not too expensive.

Gotta say i really like the design of the sharks head on that base set, it looks like it comes with quite a few play options.

The Atlantis team base also looks good and as Yoda pointed out it's a lot like the old Alpha team set, which isnt a bad thing as that set was great.

Looks like the Atlantis sub base transforms in to a submarine:

It's also up for an award at the German toy fair
EDIT: it's lost out to playmobile :(

I like the boxy-ness of it when in 'sub-mode' but I'm not too sure that it'll look good when transformed in to the base... there looks to be a lot of open areas which will make it feel much less base-like, and would detract from the whole point of a watertight, undersea base.
I've gone off it a bit now :ugeek:

The set looks okay, but the sharkbase is very good so far, need more pics..

You know what, i think you have just hit the nail on the head there. The red colour is what really turns me off this whole line.

I think this line has the same problems as Power Miners did, the crazy colour scheme just turns a lot of fans off. As i have stated before some of the PM sets were really well designed and offered great playability, but the colours made fans over look that.

Lego needs to rethink these bright colours in the future.

I really like it, actually. It lends itself the sort of 'retro' look. Besides- It's much better than bley, and the parts we've been getting in red have been really nice.

Very true! I was in the bluewater lego store today (The best lego store in the UK) and alot of people seemed to be snaping up the atlantis sets for their kids.

Some of the Atlantis sets from the NY toy fair.
From figures.com

Nothing that we haven't already seen from Germany, although the clearer pic of the portal is interesting. Looks like all the "ring pieces" / keys fit together around the portal rather than open up specific areas of the base.

In the latest Lego Club magazin it said that the divers would need all five key rings to open the gate to Atlantis, I guess that's the thing then huh? Doesn't look bad if you ask me.

Looks like you get all of the keys in the set rather than have to buy the whole line to fill up the portal thing. I had hoped for a few more IJ style traps and gates that you had to use the keys for, rather than a big spinny thing at the end.
