I agree, hollisbrick.
I'd hoped for a few more ruins-type playsets for the Atlantians to live in. The one with the opening gates is a good start and I've a feeling that there will be a few more....

The opening gates are operated by these clear key things:

It seems sensible that there will be a couple more playsets with functions operated by the other 2 keys, and perhaps even a large set with all 3 keys operating different features.

Fingers crossed, anyway ;)

Even though I am not fan of the Atlantis divres and subs, I have to say that this key feature is really super cool and I really hope like Gary said that TLC will really push forwrd the idea !!

I really like the "stone lock" in front of the temple set. Its really something I would expect to see in a Tomb Raider licensed set (oh man that could be with SW the best Lego licence ever !!)

Oh and talking about the temple set, since these are preliminary, I really hope that they will keep the golden gates, those are really cool and can very be used in a pimp villa Miami style :geek: :D

Ouch....I would really hate to see a Tomb Raider line, after Indy and now POP a TR line would really be stretching the whole temple line to the limits. As it is right now the POP line just seems like a cheap Indy line to me, plus i really don't get what the fuss is with the TR game.

For me it's a game that started off well but has gone nowhere for years now.

I concur,Vader. The TR series as a lego line is really pushing it. Personally,I love temples. But we have enough temples. I'd rather see some scenery or this new Atlantis theme.

I can't agree there with you guys regarding the TR license: when has Lego released a decent temple ? The temple from the Indy KOTCS is crappadelic and the one from PoP is even worse.

What I like in the TR idea is that its purely exploration and search for artefacts :geek: Imagine all the potential there in terms of Lego sets and parts, really something I would love. I am starting to get sick of the never ending TLC "good vs bad" lines !! Man I want exploration and discoveries and not lets kill baddies

But I digress... Or not really in fact :D If you take that new Atlantis theme, what do we have ? Only battles of vehicles and no scenery at all, except that "temple" set which is really under par (has some cool features and I like it, but its not a great temple at all). Where is the exploration in all that ?

Its really too bad we don't have underwater scenery with hidden treasure, sea life with new creatures, a really nice shipwreck playset... So many things that copuld have been done and once again TLC delivered so few of those

That's the point though, Lego haven't made a good temple set since the Johnny Thunder line. Since then i think they have all been well below par, for that reason alone i would hate to see them have another go.

If Lego wanted to do another exploration line then they could simply save some money and reuse the JT line, i would much rathre see that then TR anyday.

Anyway as they have Atlantis and POP right now i wouldn't expect anything else new, theme wise for at least a few years.

Vad, they could do a more modern JT line featuring a hottie (I'm sure TT woukd agree :D ) :geek: I mean JT was such an Indy ripp off, they could invent a hottie and ripp off the TR line, saving money and having yellow faces MFs ;)

What I would love is new artefacts, new vehicles, new animals, great temples and ruins playsets... Yeay the JT line offered amazing temples: especially in Egypt and China :geek:

And for now Atlantis unfortunatly failed miserably in that regard
