I hope you don't mind me asking, but why must the roads be 7 bricks high? It seems like such a waste! Surely you could reduce this requirement and then people with smaller brick collections would participate?

If you were worried that there would be no slope down to the sea at the beach then I think only 1 or 2 bricks high is sufficient. I'd be more likely to participate if this was reduced.

Well, the airport will come later. This is the Team Alpha build.

That's what I was hoping for in the police station and house.

Well, I was worried about the sea slope. I don't think it matters if the walls are multicolored or one color. Unless you mean you don't have enough bricks either way. Also, the port needs to be high for ships to dock, right? I don't know, how about 3 or 4 bricks high? Share your opinions in the thread.

EDIT: Poll added.

I thought that may have been the reason. However, two bricks is still 6 plates worth of elevation and mixing plates and slopes here would still create a realistic beach area. This is the number I have voted for. I agree this may leave any large-scale ships looking a bit too large for the port, but this is the first BH community build so why not keep it relatively small-scale initially to attract interest and encourage others to sign up? We can always start off with a small marina area (with perhaps jet skis, small paddle boats etc), then, perhaps areas can be improved in time. This would be my way to tackle it.

I have enough bricks to completely cover a 32x32 baseplate 7 bricks high, but I feel it's over the top. No-one should see these walls so the colour shouldn't matter, but some builders may be put off by the fact that they have to expend so many bricks before they've even built anything "useful".

The idea of a community build project is certainly an interesting one and I applaude you for the effort of trying to start this up. I am very keen to participate but I am just trying to point out how you can make this more accessible to everyone. At the end of the day I am not criticising you! :)

If you want to view any of my own CITY creations for ideas or such like there are links in my signature. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

As soon as a majority is reached in the polls, it will be that height. I know you aren't criticizing me! :)
