Great train for a good price!

I've always wanted a train as a kid and that's something every large city display should have IMO. Wish I could get this. Flexirails sound very promising I'm really curious about them!

Wow, the process have been going rather quick now. Emerald Night is now listed at shop at home!

IMO, I think I would've prefered this not to leak. Now we just have to sit tight and wait, instead of all the ooohs and aaahs we usually get, like when Medieval Market was unveiled.

Another must have, Great design I just wonder how the new power function will work tugging all the rolling stock.....Assuming that TLG starts bringing out more rolling stock?

Kanal-K1 posted the link over at EB, and I figured I'd share it, seeing as it is a thorough review of 10194 Emerald Night.

Now, I don't speak or read any czech (and I don't know if anyone else here does), but there's lots and lots of pictures, and I figured that's good enough.

But, I'm a bit dissapointed at what looks like the motor mounts - seems like the interior has to be gutted to fit one. On the other hand, there's room for the XL-motor there, so it shouldn't lack any pulling-power, that's for sure.

Now, only one question remains; how many should I pick up. I've toyed with the idea of getting three of these, with at least one unmotorized display, the others for parts and/or experimentation. What d'ya think?

Some of you may have seen this already but it was new to me so i thought i would post it in case you haven't. It appears to be a pic of the new PF remote and the battery for the train sets. You can see the top of Emerald Night at the bottom of the pic. The battery is smaller than i expected and should be fairly easy to hide in most builds i think....

According to this, the battery box is a 4 x 8 x 4, rechargable, lithium-ion polymer battery. Wikipedia also states that these are fairly advanced, light and not the cheapest kind either.

Oh, and while we're discussing trains: THE NEW FLEXIBLE TRACKS! Not the prettiest, and certainly not the most silent solution, but they're far, far from useless.

Tks guys for the previous infos That train is really a thing of beauty But I do wonder if when fully loaded with all the new power function gadgets it won't suffer the same problems as he former RC trains. I mean how can that engine fully support a train of that size ? It does look too heavy to work well with it. I have no idea, its just a thought

The great thing is the size of the battery and lets hope its not that heavy

Oh yeay I agree these are not the most beautifull tracks but I agree that they can really be usefull !!



We need to see them use in MOCs rapidly to see all what they can offer in terms of flexibility and design expension on layouts

Hellfire, have you seen the price of the battery for Emerald Night.
Found this scan from the new summer S@H catalogue on another site and it has the prices for the new train PF parts.
The battery and charger is almost the same price as the train. Way too expensive i feel especially when you then have to get the motor, receiver and remote as well.

£42 for a battery and you have to pay £16 extra for a charger - that is tight
