Kingdoms Advent Calendar (7952) Pic Review

Postby xwingyoda » Fri Sep 17, 2010 11:02 am

My castle fanatics, I was really happy yesterday to find the new Kingdoms Advent Calendar, so I took 2 copies :geek: Let me review that baby for you ;) Let me start by saying this calendar is reaklly neat and offers great figs and accessories. Like my previous advent calendar reviews, I will do a theme based pic review instead of showing separatly each of the 24 windows. Without further ado...

Like always I'll start with the box art: nothing really fancy but it still looks good ;)

Now onto the Queen and the throne room. The Queen really have beautifull printing patterns on both sides of the torso :geek: A throne room needs by definition a throne: its red and gold, perfect for the Lions. Also you have a chest with gems.

This calender offers us a brand new fig: a sweet paladin/Arthur with a superb double sided torso printing :geek: I really love the idea of having Excalibur on its stone throne. Its really a fantastic touch I have to say ;)

Continuing on the topic, we do have a great looking blue wizard/Merlin. I love the direction this calendar is taking: its not only a super parts pack, its also "history and legend oriented, a real win for me ;)

Image

We do have a blacksmithwhich is great for those of us who did miss on the medieval village ;)

Image

To defend all these guys we do have 1 knight and a soldier fully armed and equipped :geek:

Image

Image

We can ask ourselves why since this calender offers us only 1 Dragon soldier with mace: clearly not a big threat to the Lions :D

Image

Image

However the Dragons should remember the King is rather ruthless when it comes to invasion...

Image

Now here is the part I really love: the hottie in the kitchen :D You do have everything you need: a keg, a cooking table, a pot, knives, apples and a pig. Looks like little piggie is in for a real apple treat :D

Image

I'll this review with the extras there are left: there are more than I thought which is really great

Image

I hope you enjoyed this review. Like always feel free to comment, request pics and what have you !! Now onto the City review :D

Awesome review mate! :geek: Looks like a very cool Advent calender!

Some really good parts and figs in this set. I am ashamed to say I have never bought a lego advent calender but if they ever did a Star Wars one you know I would buy it in a heart beat! :D

Any chance of a shot of the whole set mate? :)

My wife is securing mine as the first of my christmas presents! I do play nice and open each window on the day too ;)

I had the pirates calender last year and this looks to be in a very similar vein - some cool accessories and figs that to get in sets would cost you a LOT more. Loving the queen fig, highlight of the pack to me.

Thanks for the review mate!

Picked one up today and I was very pleased :D The weapons (especially all the gunmetal weapons) were awesome, as were so many of the exclusive figures and extra parts. Definitely an Advent Calender done right.

Thanks for the review, mate.
