Pharaoh's Quest Battlepak Pic Review

I just got 2 of them and I really love that theme: I'm really excited about january. As a general statement I love that BP but I don't think the price is right: 11€ for 3 figs and a sarcophagus is a bit steep. Sure the sarcophagus is an expensive part (dark blue and pearl gold are expensive colors) but is it worth the price of 2 minifigs ?

The new figs are really stunning. The interesting thing is that there is only one new head: its printed on both sides which is a great surprise. I thought there were 2 different heads. You can really mix them as you see fit which is a nice touch.

I really love the new weapons: they are really perfect. My only grip is that you only have 1 full set and a bloody spear  2 full sets would have been way better IMO. I love the one eye print: it looks like a cyborg mummy :D

The best fig is the Horus fig, simply a stunning fig I have to say.

I love the dark blue printed Horus mask and those wings are just perfect. You know I'm sure someone will find a great use for them in a modular style building ;)

The sarcophagus is really the same as the classic adventurer's one.

Finally here are the extras of that set: not really that exciting (jewels, snake and scorpions).

I hope you enjoyed reading this review. Like always feel free to ask for more pics, comment and what have you ;)

Nice review Yoda! I think that instead of the sarcophagus we should have gotten an Anibus Guard. I think it's a bit steep for that little to it. I also think they should have made it like a Star Wars battle pack and include a small chariot type vehicle.

Great review mate! :geek:

Looks like a very good little set and with those great mummies castle fans can now have a undead hoard! :)

I have already said this but this line really is shaping up to be a great one! :geek:

Oh I totally agree with you mate, I would love to have an Anubis fig and more weapons instead of that sarcophagus. Oh well, its still cool to have several sarcophagus.

Regarding teh small vehicle, remember that this BP is not a regular set, but a derived product like keychains, magnets (...) that has a totally different packaging, selling method and what have you. But I agree, I would prefer have a classic BP with 4 figs and vehicle/vegetation ...

Its really expensive: 11€ :x But you know, I totally forgot that with the Lego VIP card that Lego shop offers 10% off on all derived products, man what a dumbass I am :D So with the card its 9.90€

Starwars4J wrote:You know I gotta ask mate :D Cheap Chinese plastic?

:D I knew you had to ask that mate. Well parts are from classic sets (tcheck republic and Denmark) and China. So yes the fig is a chinese fig but let me stres out that the quality of the fig has much improved since the firts magnets ;) They are equivalent to the latest Kingdoms BPs which were good quality. So its chines but I would not consider the plastic that cheap ;)

Nice early review, mate!
This looks like a great set and I like the inclusion of the sarcophagus - it's a piece that I've been looking forward to getting.
Jus one question - how are the wings attached? Is it with one of those flat plates with a stud on it?

Exactly mate, I should have added that detail to my review. So I took a pic for you to illustrate ;)

My pleasure mate ;)

I was searching for my old mummy figs and old Egypt parts (I do have very few to say the least) to make a comparison shot with the new mummy, so here it is:

Image

You really see that Lego stayed really close to the original design which is kind of great ;)

Wow, I love this Bp, those figs are great!! I didn't know they came out yet, though.
Been gone for a while, so forgive me for digging up old news ;)

Has this been a limited time offer or do you get the 10% VIP discount anytime you visit a store?
